WHO WE ARE . . .

FUNdamental Learning Works was founded by Dr. Saara Mahjouri, an Educational Psychologist based in the New York City area. Dr. Mahjouri has worked in various contexts in the field of education for the past 12 years. She recieved her Ph.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles and her Master's degree from Harvard University.

Dr. Mahjouri, a former special education teacher and educational therapist, has clinical expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of autism spectrum disorders, with an emphasis on school-based social skills treatment and postsecondary transition planning. Additionally, she has had extensive training and experience in therapeutic approaches to education including literacy and math remediation strategies as well as executive function coaching.
